Work and Holiday Visa
About this Visa
This Visa is for young adults who want an extended holiday and to work here in order to fund it.
- Must be 18 to 30 years old (inclusive)
- Must have a passport from an eligible country
- Must not be accompanied by dependent children
This visa lets people 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) have an extended holiday in Australia and work here to help fund their trip.

Basic Conditions
- You must have a passport from an eligible country
- You can work while you are here
- You can apply for a second Work and Holiday visa if you meet certain eligibility criteria
With This Visa You Can
- do short-term work in Australia to help pay for your holiday
- study for up to 4 months
- travel to and from Australia as many times as you want
- do 3 months of specified subclass 462 work to become eligible for a second Work and Holiday visa
You Must
- have a passport from an eligible country
- be 18 to 30 years old (inclusive)
- apply from outside Australia
- not be accompanied by dependent children
- not have previously entered Australia on a subclass 462 or 417 visa. If you previously entered Australia on a subclass 462 visa, see the second Work and Holiday visa
This visa lets people 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) who currently hold, or who have held, a Work and Holiday visa, have a second working holiday in Australia.

- You must have completed 3 months of specified subclass 462 work

- You can apply for a third Work and Holiday visa if you meet certain eligibility criteria
With This Visa You Can
- do short- term work in Australia to help pay for your holiday
- study for up to 4 months
- travel to and from Australia as many times as you want
- do 6 months of specified subclass 462 work to become eligible for a third Work and Holiday visa
You Must
- have previously entered Australia on a subclass 462 visa. If you haven’t, see the first Work and Holiday visa
- if in Australia, hold a substantive visa or your last substantive visa expired less than 28 days ago
- have a passport from an eligible country
- be 18 to 30 years old (inclusive)
- have completed 3 months of specified subclass 462 work
- not be accompanied by dependent children
This visa lets people 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) who currently hold, or who have held, a second Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa, have a third working holiday in Australia.

- have a passport from an eligible country
- be 18 to 30 years old (inclusive)
- have undertaken 6 months of specified subclass 462 work
- not be accompanied by dependent children

2. Subclass 408
Temporary Activity Visa
About this Visa
This visa allows you to come to Australia to do specific types of work on a short-term, temporary basis. There are 10 types of Temporary Visas that you can apply for. Our Migration Lawyers will ensure you select the right one.

This visa lets you stay in Australia to take part in an approved special program. Special programs can include youth exchange, cultural enrichment or community programs, school language assistants or “gap year school volunteering”.

- have a contract and a letter of support from a peak sporting body
- not work outside your specified sporting activities
This temporary visa lets you come to Australia to work in the entertainment industry on film, television or live productions as a performer, production or support staff. You can include family members in your visa application.
